WWW Wednesday – 08/04/2020

Hey guys. Welcome to another WWW Wednesday post. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. All you have to do is answer these three questions: 1) What are you currently reading? 2) What did you recently finish reading? 3) What do you think you’ll read next?

1) What are you currently reading?

The first book I am currently reading is House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas. I have finally decided it is time to see what all the hype is about, and see if I will love this book as much as everyone else seems to. I have actually seen a few mixed reviews about this, saying it is too long and a bit info dumpy. I am finding what I have read so far a bit confusing, but I am hoping it will become clearer to me as I read on.

I am also currently listening to the audiobook for Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han. I read book one and two ages ago, but I never got around to the third book until now, and I’m so happy to finally be reading it. I’m enjoying it so much, and the whole series are such happy and uplifting books, perfect to read with everything that is going on in the world at the moment.

2) What did you recently finish reading?

I have finished 5 books since last week’s post, which is crazy. Although, it is the OWLs readathon, which always motivates me to read loads, and two of them were really short.

The first book I finished was P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han. I have been really enjoying rereading this series via audio. They have a really good narrator, and they are so easy to listen to.

The next book I finished was a physical read, and it was Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb. I read this for the Elderlingalong, and I am so glad I did. I have been meaning to read her books for a while, and I ended up really enjoying it. I will definitely be joining in the rest of the readalong to finish off the series.

After that, I could get into my OWLs reads. I started with the shortest, The Case of the Missing Treasure by Robin Stevens. This was such a quick and fun read, and it was really nice to dive back into this world, even if it was only for 98 pages. I don’t own the next book in the series yet, so I really need to get my hands on that ASAP.

I then read my next shortest book, which was What Magic Is This? by Holly Bourne. Holly is one of my favourite authors, so I really wanted to get around to this book soon. I was so happy that I could fit it into the readathon. I really loved it, despite it only being 160ish pages. It was full of feminism and mental health and basically everything Holly is known for, and it really celebrates friendship.

The most recent book I finished was Jack of Hearts (And Other Parts) by L.C. Rosen. I have posted a short review with my thoughts that you can find here.

3) What do you think you’ll read next?

My next physical read will probably by Take a Chance On Me by Beth Garrod. I absolutely love ABBA and Mamma Mia the movie, and this book is inspired by Mamma Mia, so I am so excited to dive into this book. I am expecting it to just be a really fun and cute read, which is exactly what I want right now.

My next audiobook will be Jane Austen At Home by Lucy Worsley. I got this book as a Christmas gift from my Granny, so I really want to make sure I actually get to it before Christmas this year.
