WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday – 29/01/2020

Hey guys. Welcome to another WWW Wednesday post. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. All you have to do is answer these three questions: 1) What are you currently reading? 2) What did you recently finish reading? 3) What do you think you’ll read next?

1) What are you currently reading?

My main read at the moment is The Queen’s Assassin by Melissa De La Cruz. I’m buddy reading it with Beth from The Books Are Everywhere. We are about 160 pages in and I am really enjoying it so far. I’m really enjoying the writing, and I’m finding the story very interesting and gripping. Keep an eye out for my review!

I’m also currently reading an eARC of Grief Angels by David Owen, which I got off NetGalley. I’m reading it on my phone, so I’m mostly reading it when I can’t read a physical book. I’m only about 10% in so I don’t feel like I’m far enough to have an opinion yet, but so far so good. Keep an eye out for this review too!

My current audiobook is The Selection by Kiera Cass. I know I am so behind the times with this one, but the audiobook is on Scribd, so I decided that now is the time. I started it at work today, and I’ve only got two hours left. I’m enjoying it. I’m not super loving it though. It feels very stereotypical dystopia.

2) What did you recently finish reading?

Since last weeks WWW Wednesday, I have finished 3 books and DNF’ed 2.

The first book I finished was Save the Date by Morgan Matson. I found it really quick and easy to get through, but I found most of the characters annoying most of the way through the book. I ended up giving it 3 stars, and it is my least favourite Morgan Matson book.

I also finished listening to The Bomb Girl Brides by Daisy Styles. This was a christmas present from my boyfriends grandma. It’s not the sort of thing I usually read, but I actually really enjoyed the audiobook. I will probably listen to the rest of the series now. I gave it 4 stars.

The last book I recently finished is Pixie Pushes On by Tamara Bundy. I picked up the ARC of this book at YALC last year (it is now out if you are interested) and once again, it is not something I usually read. Once again, I ended up really enjoying it. I won’t say too much here because I have a review coming next week, so keep an eye out for that! I gave it 4 stars.

The 2 books I DNF’ed are Dragon Speaker by Elana A. Mugdan and the audiobook of The Beholder by Anna Bright. I was just finding both of them a bit boring and I couldn’t bring myself to care about either of the plots.

3) What do you think you’ll read next?

I have another buddy read coming up next week, with Beth and also Faye from A Daydreamer’s Thoughts. We will be buddy reading Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano. I’m super excited to read this one. I don’t know much about it, which honestly makes me more excited to read it.

I’m also planning on participating in Polarthon next week. I made a TBR post, which you can find here if you want more information about the readathon. I’m planning to read Frostheart by Jamie Littler and The Girl Who Speaks Bear by Sophie Anderson. I’m really excited to read both of them.

Feel free to leave a comment with a link to your WWW Wednesday post!

I enjoyed The Selection as a popcorn book and tried not to expect too much of it! As I recall, I did get drawn in by the end, but I never actually picked up the other books.

    My WWW post!
