WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday – 22/01/2020

Hey guys. Welcome to another WWW Wednesday post. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. All you have to do is answer these three questions: 1) What are you currently reading? 2) What did you recently finish reading? 3) What do you think you’ll read next?

1) What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading a few books. My main current read is Save the Date by Morgan Matson. It is one of the 12 books my boyfriend picked for me to read this year. I’m about 150 pages in and I’m really enjoying it so far.

I’m also currently listening to the audiobook for The Bomb Girl Brides by Daisy Styles. I got this as a Christmas present from my boyfriends grandma in 2018, and it’s not something I would usually pick up, but I am actually really enjoying the audiobook. It has a good narrator and it is really easy to listen to.

The last book I am currently reading is Dragon Speaker by Elana A. Mugdan. I got this book as an e-ARC from netgalley, and I have been reading it whenever I have nothing to do and no access to my physical book, so I’m only about 30% through. I’m considering DNFing it though because I’m not really enjoying it. I’m finding the story and the writing really basic and I don’t really have any desire to continue.

2) What did you recently finish reading?

On Sunday, Faye and I finished our buddy read of The Burning by Laura Bates. I really love feminist contemporaries so I have been meaning to read this one for ages. I ended up really enjoying it. I posted a review for it if you want to see my full thoughts. You can find it here.

I also recently finished reading The Gentleman’s Guide to Getting Lucky by Mackenzi Lee. I loved The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue so I’m so happy I got the chance to read this novella. I didn’t love it as much as TGGTVAV, but that’s only because I’m not always the biggest fan of novella’s and short stories. I gave it 4 stars.

3) What do you think you’ll read next?

I have some ARCs I want to catch up/get ahead on, so I think a couple of those will be my next reads. The most pressing ones are Pixie Pushes On by Tamara Bundy, which came out in mid January, and The Queen’s Assassin by Melissa De La Cruz, which comes out in early February. I will have reviews up for both of these once I’ve read them, so keep an eye out!
