Summary: Izzy O’Neill here! Impoverished orphan, aspiring comedian and Slut Extraordinaire, if the gossip sites are anything to go by . . .

Izzy never expected to be eighteen and internationally reviled. But when explicit photos involving her, a politician’s son and a garden bench are published online, the trolls set out to take her apart. Armed with best friend Ajita and a metric ton of nachos, she tries to laugh it off – but as the daily slut-shaming intensifies, she soon learns the way the world treats teenage girls is not okay. It’s the Exact Opposite of Okay.

I loved this book so much. I’m always on the lookout for feminist YA, and this one is, in my opinion, one of the best. Everything about this book was just perfect.

I really loved the main character, Izzy. I really enjoyed her humour, it was my kind of humour. There were several moments in this book where I laughed out loud. I also found Izzy to be more relatable than characters in other books. I felt like her actions and reactions to stuff that was happening were very realistic.

I also really loved Ajita. I thought she was a really great friend, and some of the stuff she did to stick up for Izzy was hilarious.

The only character I really didn’t like was Danny. He was so selfish and horrible. However, I think he was supposed to be like that, and the story wouldn’t have been the same without him in it.

One of the best things about this book is that I feel like it addressed certain topics, rather than just having something bad happen and never talking about how its bad.

Overall I loved this book so much. I would definitely recommend reading it if you liked Moxie or the Spinster Club series. If you know of any more feminist YA, especially contemporary, please let me know in the comments.
