Author Events: Kazuo Ishiguro and Graeme Simsion

    pics (and books) 011

Hello everyone 🙂 Last week I attended two author events/signings, which is awesome considering authors rarely come to my area.

The first event was on Tuesday evening, and it was Kazuo Ishiguro with his new book the Buried Giant. I paid for the book with my ticket and picked it up on the night, and the dust jacket had a small rip at the top. I was not happy about that. But the event itself was great. Kazuo Ishiguro read out the first few pages of the book. It sounds really good so far and I really can’t wait to read it. He also talked a bit about his inspiration for the Buried Giant, the idea of doing something so bad that you want to just be able to forget it. Or something like that. I don’t have the best memory. When he was finished talking, he signed books, so I now have a signed first edition of the Buried Giant 🙂

The second event was Graeme Simsion on Sunday afternoon and it was a lot more casual. You didn’t have to buy a ticket and there was tea and cake 🙂 I got there slightly early and Graeme Simsion was already there and willing to sign, so I managed to avoid any large crowds that may have occured, which was great. He signed my books and we had a chat about how we were both born in New Zealand but lived in Australia.

So I now have three more signed books to add to my collection. Hopefully I’ll be adding a lot more in July at YALC. Feel free to leave any comments down below 🙂

Hey guys! Welcome to this weeks WWW Wednesday! WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. All you have to do is answer these three questions: 1) What are you currently reading? 2) What did you recently finish reading? 3) What do you think you’ll read next? So lets get started 🙂

    1. What are you currently reading? I am currently reading Across the Universe by Beth Revis. I’m about 150 pages in and I’m really enjoying it so far 🙂 Although, I really really hate Eldest so far.
    2. What did you recently finish reading? Well, I wouldn’t call it “recent,” but the last book I finished was A Gift From Bob by James Bowen. I finished it over a week ago. I tried picking up another book between this one and Across the Universe, but it took me a week to read 45 pages of it so I put it down.
    3. What do you think you’ll read next? Next, I plan to read Devilskein and Dearlove by Alex Smith. I received this book for review nearly a year ago, and I still haven’t read it. So I figured it was well past time to get to it. I plan to post a review when I’m finished it so look out for that.

So that is my WWW Wednesday for this week. I hope you enjoyed 🙂 Feel free to leave any comments down below.

    1. What are you currently reading? I am reading The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. I’ve had this for a while and just hadn’t gotten round to it, but now the author is coming to my local bookshop on the 14th of March so I figured I should read it now. I’m about 100 pages in and I’m really enjoying it so far 🙂
    2. What did you recently finish reading? I recently finished Drama by Raina Telgemeier. Its a graphic novel. I’ve read other graphic novels by this author and I really enjoyed them, so I decided to check out this one and I really enjoyed it 🙂
    3. What do you think you’ll read next? Next I shall be reading The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion, the sequel to The Rosie Project. Once again, because the author is coming to my city 🙂 Really excited to meet him and apparently there will be cake 😀

That is all for this weeks WWW Wednesday. I hope you enjoyed, and as always feel free to leave any comments down below 🙂

Hello my friends 🙂 I have decided that I might start doing monthly TBR posts, I don’t know if this will last, but I will try and make sure it does. Anyway, here are the books I plan to read this month:

    February Wrap Up :)

    wpid-imag1712_1.jpg

Hey guys! So this month I read 9 books, which I am really pleased about 🙂 I think I actually read most of them in the first week and a half of February, which is shocking. But since then I’ve been feeling kinda slumpy and I had to focus on finishing my coursework so it took me about a week and a half to finish the last book I read this month. It was a long book though, and I’m ahead on my goodreads challenge, so I don’t mind too much. So anyway, without further ado, here is what I read in February:
